Spirit of Joy!

unitylacrescenta

This coming Sunday, Christmas Eve, is the 4th Sunday of Advent.  The theme is "Joy!" During our Advent study, we have focused our prayerful attention on the qualities of faith, peace, love and now joy! Affirm: "I feel joyous as I celebrate the birth of the Christ within."

Everyone has their own Christmas Eve tradition.  I remember that on Christmas Eve, my brothers and I could open up one gift.  My mother or sometimes my father would tell us the story of the Northern Star, the Shepherds tending their flocks of sheep and the gifts from the Magi who had traveled a great distance to honor the birth of the Christ child.  As I remember, it was hard to go to sleep that Christmas Eve night, anticipating the visit from Santa Claus and also dreaming of the little baby, named Jesus.

Whatever your Christmas Eve tradition may be, let it be filled with joy; but, most of all the knowledge that yes, you are fully human and yes you are also fully divine. "I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." (John 15;11)

Reminder: Our very talented Music Director, Ann Louise Christensen and her band are scheduled to play this Saturday, 12 23 2023 in Montrose, CA on Honolulu from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. However, if it rains, they cannot play in the rain!  Their spot on Honolulu is across from the Black Cow Restaurant.  Plenty of public parking in the lot behind the restaurants.  Let's pray for sunny skies!!!

Loving Blessings,

Rev. Jeri Linn
